This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains when MT and payments are returned on RocketMerit: MT purchases, Campaigns, Tasks, mentorship sessions, disputes, cash withdrawals and account deletion.
This Policy forms part of the RocketMerit Terms of Service and works together with the Payment & Merit Token (MT) Policy.
Most refunds on RocketMerit are made in MT and happen automatically, according to the rules in this Policy. They are credited to your RocketMerit Wallet.
A refund of money to your card or payment account is only made where this Policy says so, where required by law, or where RocketMerit approves a correction of a payment error.
RocketMerit applies one rule in every refund: a refund must reverse both the payment and the matching MT, so that no MT exists without a payment behind it.
MT bought on rocketmerit.com is credited to your Wallet once the payment provider confirms the payment.
MT is intended to be used once it is in your Wallet. There is no general right to return unused purchased MT for money, except where applicable law gives you that right.
RocketMerit will correct a purchase that was:
To request a correction, contact support as described in Section 14. Approved monetary refunds are returned to the original payment method, and the matching MT is removed from your Wallet.
MT bought in the RocketMerit iPhone or iPad app is purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. MT bought in the RocketMerit Android app is purchased through Google Play Billing where it is available.
These payments are processed by Apple or Google, not by RocketMerit. Refund requests for them must be made to Apple or Google, under their refund policies. RocketMerit cannot issue a refund for an App Store or Google Play purchase itself.
If Apple or Google refunds or reverses a purchase, RocketMerit removes the MT from that purchase from your Wallet. If that MT has already been spent, RocketMerit may restrict some features of your account until the balance is settled.
A newly funded Campaign has a 10-minute launch window.
If you cancel the Campaign during the launch window, the full MT locked for the Campaign is returned to your Wallet.
After the launch window, Campaigns run until all spots are filled or the Creator pauses or closes them.
When you close a Campaign:
When a Campaign is hidden by moderation, its budget is not changed automatically. Unused budget is returned only on the Creator's request to support, and only for spots not committed to accepted or completed Tasks.
If a Creator rejects a submitted Task with a reason, the spot returns to the Campaign so another Contributor can take it. If the Campaign is already full, the Creator can reopen it. MT for spots that are never used is returned to the Creator's Wallet when the Campaign is closed.
If a Contributor does not submit a reserved Task within 30 minutes, the reservation expires and the spot returns to the Campaign. No MT is taken from the Contributor.
If a Creator does not review a submitted Task within 24 hours, the Task is approved automatically and the reward is paid.
Rewards obtained through fraud, fabricated proof or other prohibited activity may be withheld or reversed (Section 12).
When a Mentee requests a session, the session MT is held.
After the session time, both parties are asked whether the session took place:
Problems with a session that did take place are reported through Report a Problem and handled under the Dispute Resolution Policy.
Where a dispute is resolved with a refund or partial refund, the MT is credited to the applicable Wallet.
A dispute does not automatically reverse a completed Mentor settlement or a cash payout that has already been sent. These may need additional review or recovery steps.
Where cash withdrawal is available, a withdrawal may fail because of:
If an approved withdrawal fails and is not completed, the applicable MT is returned to the user's RocketMerit Wallet.
If RocketMerit rejects a withdrawal following a manual review, the applicable MT is also returned to the Wallet unless the funds are subject to a fraud investigation or other lawful restriction.
The current minimum cash withdrawal is:
5,000 MT ($50 equivalent).
The current withdrawal fee is:
the greater of 100 MT or 2% of the withdrawal amount, capped at 500 MT.
If a withdrawal fails before completion, RocketMerit will return the applicable MT according to the withdrawal processing mechanism.
When a user requests account deletion:
The account deletion process and the 14-day restoration and withdrawal period are described in the Account Deletion & Data Retention Policy.
RocketMerit may reverse, withhold, or cancel MT obtained through:
Such reversals may apply even where a normal refund or reward rule would otherwise have applied.
RocketMerit may also suspend or terminate the relevant account.
If a payment is disputed or charged back through a payment provider, RocketMerit may investigate the transaction.
During an investigation, RocketMerit may temporarily restrict related MT, Wallet activity, Campaign activity, or cash withdrawals where reasonably necessary.
RocketMerit may request information from the user and may coordinate with the relevant payment provider.
For transactions that are not automatically refunded under this Policy, contact:
Please include:
RocketMerit will review the request and respond through the contact information associated with your account.
Where a monetary refund is approved, RocketMerit will normally return the amount through the original payment method where technically and legally possible.
Where the transaction involves MT rather than a direct monetary payment, an approved refund will normally be returned as MT to the user's RocketMerit Wallet.
The timing of a monetary refund may depend on the payment provider and banking system.
RocketMerit may update this Policy when its services, payment methods, Campaign mechanics, mentorship services, or refund procedures change.
The Last Updated date will be changed whenever this Policy is updated.
Material changes will be communicated through the Service, email, or another reasonable method where appropriate.
Changes apply prospectively unless otherwise required by applicable law.
